Baby K :: 3 Months

March 30, 2010

Wow! This is pretty exciting! Finally a post with pictures! It has been a while! A few weeks ago we photographed Baby K (no, his name is not K, that is just his initial, we don’t want to put his full name on the blog) as part as a 3-6-9-12 package we offer. K’s mom got the package as a gift from her mom. What a great gift idea if you know anyone who is expecting, find more information here. So, on to the pictures of this little guy.

First we got changed. I just love the way he is looking at his mom.

This is the family dog, Roxy. What a cutie she is! When I laid on the floor to get some shots of K, she was all over, jumping and hopping around! Too cute!

Look at this pouty face! haha K wasn’t too cooperate with the happy faces, but I still think this one is kinda cute!

K is just learning how to smile, I think he did a pretty good job on the one smile that I saw!

Sorry it has been so long since the last FHF. I have neglected the blog recently. By no means have I run out of fire hydrant pictures, so I am just going to pick up where we left off.

It seems like most hydrants like to spend their time near street corners. This one is looking dapper in his fresh yellow coat while chilling next to a palm tree in Charleston.

Also as a side note, we have some pretty awesome clients. Last week Lindsay received and email from one of our 2010 bride’s and she closed the email with “Happy Fire Hydrant Friday.” How cool is that!

Honor Roll :: Calligraphy

March 10, 2010

HonorRoll

It’s that time again! Another amazing thing for your wedding! Since I have started the Honor Roll, I have wanted to showcase calligraphy, it is a wonderful way to introduce your guests to your fabulous wedding. And I also really wanted to share this with you because I happen to know a fabulous calligrapher! Her name is Shannon and she is great at what she does! I grew up with Shannon and have many crazy memories of lip-syncing to Back Street Boys or N*Sync… yea we were pretty cool… haha anyway… on to Shannon’s Spectacular work!Screen shot 2010-03-05 at 10.02.27 PM

Shannon also sent along this nice little list of why calligraphy is important and I whole-heartedly agree!!

Reasons why calligraphy is important:

- sets the tone for the invitations – if you are spending hundreds on your invitation suite, you don’t want the envelope to look sloppy

- often the first piece of official information regarding the nuptials

- not just weddings – holidays, birthdays, graduation announcements, birth announcements, etc.  (who really wants to address 50+ birth announcements when they could be spending time with their newborn instead?)

I also think a hand written address on an invitation is so much nicer than a typed one. It makes your guests feel special!

I also wanted to include the envelope that Shannon sent her Christmas card in, when I saw it, I immediately knew it was from her, I love getting real mail especially pretty mail! Isn’t that how you want your guests to feel about your wedding invitations? So, it has been three months since I got Shannon’s card and I still have it and the envelope because the calligraphy was so special! I am sure with all the work you are putting into your invitations it would be really neat to hear that your guests kept the invite because it was so beautiful! Here it is: (sorry for the bad picture, I took it with my phone…)photo

Lovely isn’t it?? You can find Shannon at www.calligraphybyshannon.blogspot.com Check her out!

Happy Wednesday!
