We are currently running a contest over at Facebook. Since our recent name change we have to delete our old fan page and create a new one. And for fear of losing fans we are running an incentive. If you become a fan and comment on a picture in one of the albums you will be entered to win a $15 iTunes gift card. The contest will expire at midnight EST tomorrow, Friday, November 19th. So follow this link, become a fan and tell us which picture is your favorite and why.
Hey All! We sure have had a busy couple of weeks! Last weekend we took engagement pictures for Michael’s good friend Andrew and his fiance Brittany. We had a fabulous time trekking through Valley Forge Park and surrounding areas to get some great shots of them! Andrew and Brittany are too cute and we had a great time getting trying to get natural smiles out of them. My joke skills were seriously tested!
We are super excited for their wedding in May, Michael will be in the wedding as one of Andrew’s groomsmen and I will be shooting! What fun!
On to the best part… the pictures!
We started off at Heebner Park in Skippack for some fun tennis shots, we got some great goofy ones but I love these two serious ones! Way to be natural with that tennis racket Andrew!

Brittany’s beautiful engagement ring, which still doesn’t fit because her fingers are too skinny!

I tried to keep these in order, but they aren’t quite, and I like it that way! We stopped near some train tracks in the park and got these next few shots.

I absolutely love the tension in this shot! Not any negative tension between the two of them, but the visual tension between Andrew and Britt’s fingers!

Michael grabbed this shot and I love it!

Next, we trekked (and I mean trekked, I almost died) out to this old dead tree that Andrew and Britt had found while they were out scooter pootin’ (if your from the south you will know what that means… if not, Scooter Pootin’: verb. to ride around in ones car, not really doing anything but haning out. Origin: The south, please use with discretion in the North, people will look at you funny. Now ya know!) How cute is it that? They went searching for good locations! Great job guys, you found some great ones!
The one on the left is Michaels and the right is mine. I love just taking some shots of the environments we take pictures in! It is usually just as pretty as our subjects!

My shot on left, Michael’s on the right.

I think this one is our favorite! We both love it! How romantic! Perfect late afternoon light and a romantic dip! Andrew, make sure to do this a lot on your wedding day!

Michael’s on the left, mine on the right. Michael thinks his looks like an Abercrombie & Fitch add, what do you think?

Love this one on the left that Michael got and the cotton plants that were all around. That is cotton right? I think it looks like cotton.

Next stop, the arch at Valley Forge, this was where Andrew told Brittany that he loved her! How romantic that we got to take some engagement pictures there!

Oh wait… wait right there… I know I said the one of the romantic dip was my favorite but I am going to have to say this is more of my favorite! love this light, the colors, the love! Just a great photograph if you ask me! Michael grabbed this one and I am jealous!

Right now, as we look at pictures of Michael and I taking pictures, I would like to welcome back an old friend that I havent seen in almost a year! A whole year with out this friend, it has been hard with out her… Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to my ponytail! My hair is just getting long enough (barely long enough) so that I can wear it in a ponytail again and I forgot how much I missed it. Nope, that is not true, I knew how much I missed it, I missed it a whole lot! I loved my post wedding chop but I am so ready for my ponytails! I lived in them before I got my hair cut and I am so excited for their return! Welcome back rubber bands! (and good bye to the evil machine we call a blow dryer, except for special occasions…) Can you see it? My ponytail? look closely, it is there, I promise!

Michael up on a bench!

We spent quite a bit of time at this tree, enough for both of us to get a shot of the other taking pictures! And we had better stay there a long time, I needed to recover from the treck out there! haha I am pretty sure there were deadly animals in the field we walked through, you never know, snakes… rats… other deadly small creatures that live in a field… hey, it was scary at the time!

Well, that is all folks! We had a blast with Andrew and Brittany and we are looking forward to their wedding! We are glad we got to capture so many special moments for them.
Make sure to check out our Facebook this week for a fun giveaway!
Have a great rest of your week!

This hydrant was a shorty, well not really but all I got was his hat. It reminds me of the time that Lindsay and I went to the Adirondacks and I took a picture of her hat.

Well some of you may have noticed some pretty changes to the header of our blog. But more importantly the more observant folks may have noticed the logo and URL change. (If not check it out now and just act like you knew!)
I have taken marketing and I realize that a name or logo change can be extremely detrimental to a business. However we thought that it was necessary to clarify what we are and more importantly what we are not. So “Smith Photo Studios” was the old name, well we do not have a studio so that was inaccurate and we definitely don’t have more than one studio! So in order to simplify everything we are calling ourselves The Smiths. Most people know us as that anyway so why not just call ourselves that?
What does this mean for you? Nothing really. We still own smithphotostudios.com and so if you type that in it will take you to our site. But the new official URL is thesmithspictures.com. I hope this makes it easier for everyone!
In case you missed it we are now:
Have a great week and pass the word along to anyone who may wonder. And because this post will be so much better with a picture here is one of the favorites that got over looked from the Landon wedding.
