Harris Wedding

May 28, 2009

What a fun wedding! This was our last wedding of the summer in Greenville, SC.  Shout out to priceline.com for a great deal at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Greenville! Loved that!

Angela was a classically beautiful bride and James was her perfect match. These two were so fun to photograph. Their wedding day was a little wet but we were still able to take great pictures at Furman University, just down the street from the church. Furman has a beautiful clock tower. It is on a peninsula that sticks out into a beautiful lake. We had a blast taking pictures here with Angela’s attendant following us around to make sure her dress did not get wet! She did a great job! Here is our first picture of the day! James and Ange were all smiles all day, they were a joy to shoot!

Here is the whole wedding party. What beautiful people, especially all the girls, I didn’t look too much at the guys, but the girls were all stunning! Good job picking beautiful friends Ange! Just kidding, I am sure they are all genuinely your friends and I am sure I didn’t see you slipping them $20’s after the pictures were over… no, I am seriously kidding, these girls were obviously great friends and family and they were all really beautiful! By the way, this is Michael’s view

harris_blog-17

And this is my view. See all those beautiful people!?

And my view. I must have said something really funny…

harris_blog-3

These two were kissers! But not gross kissers, sometimes we ask people to kiss and we feel like we shouldn’t be watching… But James and Ange, bravo, you must have been well practiced…

Funny info: Disclaimer: If you are a parent of one of these two, stop reading now and go to the next picture. After this shot as we are walking away we hear Ange yell,”I said no tongue!!!” It was probably one of the funniest things I have heard on a shoot. She had us all laughing. See, I told you to stop reading. You didn’t want to know that. You should have listened.

Michael’s favorite. Coming soon to our living room as a canvas print…

I know this is just a straight forward portrait of a bride and bridesmaids but I just love it! I am not sure if it is the fountains in the back that mimic the girls, maybe it’s that the girls are just gorgeous, or what, but I just love it!

harris_blog-8

The guys. I guess they are good looking too…

harris_blog-20

More pretty girls!

harris_blog-7

Great programs.

harris_blog-21

WOW! Beautiful! A quick shot of Ange in between family pictures.

harris_blog-10

Before the ceremony started the Bride, Groom and bridesmaids were hanging out in the balcony listening to the prelude music and just relaxing. Ange leaned over to me and asked,”Did you come to a point on your wedding day where if someone asked you one more questions you would…”  I finished her thought, “Strangle someone?”  And the answer was yes, both to her question and if it happened to me. On your wedding day everyone is so concerned (usually) that you have the perfect day. They keep asking if you are ok, if you want anything, if there is anything they can do, that it kind of gets old. So, brides, be gracious, and people at weddings, if the bride needs something, she will most likely ask you for it!

So, after that quick convo, i told Ange just to relax and  this is what i got! I snapped a few pictures and told her it would be over before she knew it and to just enjoy! Love these shots, might be my favorite!

harris_blog-9

Or this might be my favorite… I can never decide!

Ok, I have to say something about the lovely lady in the pale blue jacket. She was totally using her iPhone to take pictures at the wedding! I saw her doing it in the ceremony too! Love that! Way to go!

harris_blog-25

Oh man! This little girl was too cute for words! This is the grooms niece and she wanted to catch the bouquet in the worst way but wouldn’t go stand near the other single ladies. After Ange through the flowers we heard her tell her dad, “Maybe she will through them again towards me.” Too cute!

harris_blog-27

Yeah for leaving your reception! Have a great time on your honeymoon!!

If we gave out awards at weddings, this guy would have to get most helpful award! If you are having a wedding in Greenville I would highly recommend you ask John to be a groomsman. Oh, you don’t know John? That’s ok, ask him anyway. He will make your day so much better. John was our go-to-guy for the day. He knew what was happening, where, when and how to get there from here. He was a big help!

Thanks John!

So, that’s it, James and Ange, your wedding was wonderful! We had a blast and we hope you did too!

Oh- Don’t be confused by the color of the text is this post. I decided that the blue was really hard to read. So, even though the text is black, it is me, Lindsay!

Have a great weekend, we will be back later this week with pictures from our trip to Atlanta but no pictures from the bride we shot there because her wedding hasn’t happened yet!

That is right folks today I got the email letting me know that Lindsay and I were featured on The Bokeh Pot.

In a nutshell, The Bokeh Pot was created to serve as a directory and event resource for the up-and-coming photographers of the wedding and portrait industry.

We were so excited to hear about this and can’t wait to keep on shooting. There is a bunch more coming your way from this past weekend we just have to find the time to post it. Have a great Wednesday!

Harris Sneak Peek

May 24, 2009

We had a wonderful time in Greenville, SC yesterday photographing James and Angela’s wedding. The rain held off long enough to get plenty of great shots outside. I know you are all on the edge of your seat to see the full post later this week! Tomorrow we are shooting a bridal in Georgia so there is lots to come in the near future. Here is a little taste of yesterday’s wedding.

Lax Wedding

May 20, 2009

Hello again all 7 subscribers (2 of which are Michael and me, yes I subscribe to my own blog and I don’t want to hear anything about it!) and guests who don’t subscribe! I know most of you are probably in shock that this is the third post I have written (almost in a row) but I think it may become more of a trend in the future. I really enjoy writing and Michael really doesn’t so it works out pretty well that way!

Back to why you are really here, the pictures. May 16th we were honored to shoot the wedding of the now 2nd Lieutenant and Mrs. Aaron Lax. Before we were in contact with these two I had honestly never heard of Clemmons, North Carolina, but I am now proud to say I can find my way around the charming, small, Southern town. The ceremony was held at the Agape Faith Church and the reception at the Family Life Center in the next town over. We had a blast with this couple and getting to know their families! Not really sure how Joanna does it with 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and 2 sister-in-laws, but she carried herself with grace and poise all day.

The church had the most fabulous western style town on the back of their property that is used for their Sunday school classes. Only in the South can you have a totally separate building that you have to walk outside to get to… Imagine doing that in the middle of winter up here… nope! Anyway, if you know me, you know i have a love affair with color so I knew when we scoped this place out that I needed to take pictures here and we were so lucky that Aaron and Joanna were into it!

Hello beautiful!

lax_blog-14

Loved the buttons on her dress! Great details!

lax_blog-15

Joanna and her bridesmaids, 6 of which are family… whoa.

lax_blog-4

There is just something about men (and a woman) in uniform that gets to me. Love this shot, one of my favorites right here. Thanks for your service guys and gal (Lieutenant Miller is the second from the end, and the only one with bangs if you couldn’t find her!)

lax_blog-6

I did learn that they do not carry swords (it really looks and feels sharp like a sword though…) It is called a saber. I was just waiting for a Pirates of the Caribbeanreenactment… Joanna could be Keira right??

lax_blog-10

Another one of my favorites, a girl can’t choose just one am I right?

lax_blog-11

Love their smiles!

lax_blog-12

So excited to see his bride!

lax_blog-5

Prayer, what an important part of life and marriage.

lax_blog-9

Aaron and Joanna decided that their first act as a married couple was to serve each other communion, neat.

laxblog-collage

P.S.: This church had some of the best lighting we have ever seen in a church. We were not aloud to use flash at the pastors request and we didn’t even need to with the excellent lighting. Now, it is definitely not your traditional church, but it still had great lighting!

And the Military Arch, what a great tradition.

lax_blog-13

Lastly, one of our favorites, Aaron tossing Joanna’s garter to the single men. Aaron seems really into it, the groomsmen were more interested in their cake… the cake did look really good, although I didn’t get to try any, I guess I was too busy taking pictures or something.

lax_blog-161

Aaron and Joanna, hope your having a fabulous time on your honeymoon, you deserve it! Your wedding was beautiful and we were happy to be a part of it!

2 trips to the south down and 2 to go. We are gearing up for a wedding in Greenville, South Carolina this weekend. James and Angie, hopefully the police won’t be involved this time… Yes, lets pray the police are not involved in your wedding day, unless you have a family member who is a police man or woman, that would be allowed!

I do have to say that traveling for these weddings hasn’t been easy, I really do love weddings, going to them, being at them, working at them. I had such a fun time at mine I would totally do it all over again in a heart beat, as long as it was still to Michael (aww I am so sweet.) But seriously, God so knew what he was doing when he put Michael and I together, I couldn’t ask for a better other half! Also, in seriousness, if you are planning a wedding and need any kind of help, planning, photography or other wise, please contact us on the website, I love love love weddings and planning them and I would love to help you with yours!

Have a great rest of the week everyone!
